What is ErP?
ErP stands for “Energy-related Products”.
The ErP directive, which is a new regulation set by the European Union is designed to improve the efficiency of heating and hot water products.
Its purpose is to ensure that end users are aware of the efficiency level of their products which is clearly displayed by an energy label.
More details on the ErP and Energy Labelling
The new regulations will come in to force in September 2015 and will define minimum performance criteria for boilers, combination boilers, water heaters and other heating appliances up to 400 kW.
The minimum performance criteria relate to efficiency and emissions limits that must be adhered to by manufacturers.
The Energy Labelling regulations introduce Europe-wide energy labelling requirements for boilers, combination boilers, water heaters and other heating products in the domestic and light commercial sectors up to 70kW.
Additionally the changes will have implications on the discussions you have with both merchants and customers.
